Arch 35 Marketing’s Visit to Oldmachar Academy
Last week, Arch 35 Marketing had the opportunity to visit Oldmachar Academy for two consecutive days, where our Managing Director & Co-Founder, Darren Cadger, spoke with the Higher Business students about the realities of building and running a marketing agency in Aberdeen, delivering services in the local area and across Aberdeenshire.
The sessions were designed to give students an honest look into what life is really like in the fast-paced world of marketing, from managing client campaigns to developing strategies that drive measurable results. Darren shared the story behind Arch 35’s journey, the challenges of starting a business coming from an engineering background after secondary school, and how creativity, data, and consistency come together to form the backbone of a successful Aberdeen marketing agency.
Across both days, students engaged in thoughtful discussions about strategy, branding, social media, and SEO, exploring how businesses in the Northeast can utilise marketing to stand out locally and beyond. It was encouraging to see so many young people genuinely interested in the industry asking smart questions about tools, trends, and the skills that employers look for in digital marketing roles.
As a growing marketing agency in Aberdeen, Arch 35 is dedicated to supporting local education and providing opportunities for students to gain real experience, whether it be across the Aberdeen area or further afield. We’ve already hosted several placement students from Robert Gordon University and are always keen to connect with the next generation of creative thinkers.
Opportunities like this remind us why we love what we do, helping businesses grow while inspiring others to explore the same path. A huge thank you again to the staff and students at Oldmachar Academy for the warm welcome and for making both sessions so enjoyable.
If your school or organisation would like to arrange a talk or collaboration with Arch 35 Marketing, feel free to get in touch. We’re always open to sharing insights and inspiring future marketers across Aberdeen and beyond.
